October half term 2026: holiday camps and activities in West Herts

Hertfordshire schools break up for October half term on Friday 23 October, and most children are off from Monday 26 to Friday 30 October 2026. (Check your own school’s calendar, as academies and independent schools can differ.)

Here’s what’s running locally that week. We’ll add dates as providers publish them.

Sport and active camps

• Rickmansworth Gymnastics Club runs holiday camps for 4–14s at The Reach, including badge testing and a Halloween party on Thursday 29 October.
• Watford Gymnastics Club runs half-term camps across Watford, Croxley and South Oxhey.
• We Make Footballers Watford runs football camps for 4–12s of all abilities. New dates are added each term.
• Xtra Time Watford runs multi-activity camps for children aged 4 and up.

Creative and STEM

• art-K Croxley Green has half-term art workshops for ages 5–18 on Watford Road.
• Rise Studios runs dance and drama half-term workshops.
• Perform has autumn half-term holiday courses in drama, dance and singing.
• Code Ninjas Watford runs coding, robotics and AI camps for 5–14s.

Free and low-cost ideas

• A walk round the Rickmansworth Aquadrome nature reserve (wellies advised).
• Cassiobury Park playgrounds and the miniature railway (£2 a ride, under-2s free).
